Paul Hollywood splashed the cash for his girlfriend Summer Monteys-Fullam’s 24th birthday on Saturday. 

The Bake Off judge, 53, showered his younger lover with lavish gifts, hiring a £330-a-head private box at Chester Races, which was kitted out with £80 champagne. 

And while the lovebirds were pictured living it up, Paul’s estranged wife Alex celebrated her 55th birthday ‘pottering around her garden’, with reports she is furious about his extravagant spending in the midst of their messy divorce.

In homage to Summer’s passion for horses, Paul pulled out all the stops as he treated the former barmaid and her pals to the luxurious private box. 

Summer looked every inch the birthday girl in a £1,400 Dolce and Gabbana pink floral dress and took to Instagram as she quaffed £80 Laurent-Perrier champagne,  Pimms, downed shots and showed off her pink marble cake. 

The beauty looked thrilled with the presenter’s efforts showering him in kisses as they whittled away the hours drinking, eating and watching the horses race.

A source told The Sun: ‘Paul and Summer were being really touchy-feely, and are smitten, obviously it is galling for Alex to witness the couple flaunting their happiness, and looking so smug.

‘Alex has seen the ridiculous gifts and holidays Paul has forked out on, she wonders and half-jokes if it is so that he has less in the kitty for her, when terms are finally agreed by their legal teams.

‘She is resigned to the fact Paul is on a mission to spend, spend, spend, for Summer’s part, she has been patient and understanding, she just wants it all to be over now as, unsurprisingly, does Paul.’

Last week it was reported by the publication that Paul gifted Summer a £9,000 hot tub for her birthday, while earlier this year he treated her to a £9,000 ring and £1,000 Rottweiler puppy, Bear.  

The loved-up couple have also jetted off on luxurious holidays to Mauritius and the Swiss Alps.  

MailOnline has contacted Paul and Alexandra’s representatives for comment.  

Meanwhile Paul’s estranged wife Alex’s birthday was a much more humble affair.

The baking genius spent Saturday potting up her vegetable plants in her garden ahead of her 55th birthday on Sunday.

Sharing a snap on Instagram, Alex, who was married to Paul for 21 years, wrote: ‘Pottering about in my garden, thinking about my 55th Birthday tomorrow and all the roles I’ve played up til now..

‘I’m a mother, a daughter, a sister, a friend. I’m a cook, an author, I’ve been a wife, a Scuba instructor, a chalet girl, I’ve run businesses, learned a myriad of new skills & travelled to amazing places, met wonderful people and discovered new foods, cultures, languages. 

‘I’ve been truly blessed and I’m thankful for it all, I’m still filled with curiosity, I know there’s loads more out there for me to discover.. and I’m so ready for it!’

Alex and Paul Hollywood, who have a 16-year-old son together, announced their split in November 2017 following the revelation of the star baker’s second affair.   

According to The Sun, Alex could be entitled to half of Paul’s estimated £10million net-worth.  

Speaking about their separation earlier this year to MailOnline, Alex said: ‘It’s such a big thing to comprehend, to end a marriage. But I had to do the right thing, and to have self-respect as well.

‘Any marriage is about respect and loyalty and friendship. Also self-respect, and I respect myself.’

Meanwhile, Paul and Summer’s relationship is going from strength-to-strength.

Sources have told MailOnline Paul is ‘thrilled’ to have secured a £1million 18th century farmhouse for himself and Summer, 15 months after he split from Alex.

The chef had previously been living in a nearby rented property but is now said to be renovating the four bedroom country cottage.  

Paul and Summer met when the baker was organising a birthday party for his wife at the pub where Summer worked.

They have insisted their relationship began only after his marriage fell apart in November 2017 but Alexandra filed for divorce last August on grounds of adultery.

Summer spoke for the first time of her love for the TV chef in an exclusive interview with MailOnline last May.

She insisted at the time: ‘I came [into a relationship with Paul] way after his marriage ended.’

Asked if the age gap bothered her, she added: ‘I’m fine and I’m enjoying life. I’m not upset… I’m happy. Why should it [the age gap] bother me?’ 

Paul and Summer’s new pad is about 40 miles from the marital home, where Alex still lives with their  son, Josh.

The Strictly Come Dancing professional was celebrating her 30th birthday party with the YouTuber, who had gone and splashed out on an insane cake.

Yes, the 27-year-old had treated his girl to an under the sea themed cake and couldn’t help but share pictures of the surprise on Instagram.

We mean, if any cake if fit for the gram, it sure is this one.

Taking to her story, the birthday girl videoed the amazing looking feast, as she played the Little Mermaid track Under The Sea in the background.
